The project to build a community centre to replace the village hall began in the 1990s.  A team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers were determined to ensure that Madeley had a community centre that could fulfil the needs of the local area.  For more information on the history of the project see our History pages.

After masses of hard work, a number of consultations with local people and a lot of excellent negotiating with councils and funding providers, the first turf was cut in late 2009 by our local hero, legendary footballer Gordon Banks OBE and building was underway.

The centre was officially opened on 11 June 2011 by Mr Banks at 2pm.
